Abstract:

The following article is a refl ection about the persons in drug
dependency treatment characteristics and their adaptation to the
conditions required for the current labour market. After a brief description
of “Red Araña Association” (a pioneer entity in the sociolabour insertion
for socially excluded collectives) and its trajectory, we expound a few
lines about the exclusion concept and the dimensions included, the
ex-drug dependents image as a socially excluded collective or at risk
of being excluded, and the changes produced during the last years
affecting their biological, psychological and social characteristics, and
their social image. This new profi le about persons with a history of
substance misuse needs a new way of intervention at any sociolabour
inclusion project. This intervention is based in a labour market
conditions exhaustive adaptation, a labour market in a permanent
transformation.
